A 'pdf' file gives you the document as it was printed on paper, with layout and pictures, instead of the web page version.

To read a pdf file, you need Adobe Acrobat Reader, a free program which you can download from the Adobe web site.

Once downloaded and installed, Acrobat Reader will work with your web browser so that you can read pdf files on the web. You can also use the Reader to save pdf files on your computer.
