Margaret Sharkey

Margaret Sharkey started at London Hazards in 2001. A Medical Laboratory Scientific Officer in the NHS, she also worked at the North East Trade Union Studies Information Unit on Tyneside for nearly 10 years. In 1995 she wrote the Asbestos Hazards Handbook for London Hazards. She says: “I would like to see London Hazards Centre develop its work with community groups and tenants organisations and  rebuild its networks of trade union health and safety representatives. Safety reps save lives. I also hope to encourage more women to take on this role, as a step towards greater involvement in their trade unions.
